About the Genies

Our Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogists throughout the U.S. work diligently and privately to resolve identification cases of unknown DNA samples. Known around here as “Genies,” our practitioners hold multiple IGG certificates, and two have earned global IGGAB Accreditation. Below is a list of their completed certificate programs and some of the industry-set guidelines we work with.

Genie Educational Credentials & Guiding Principles

Educational Credentials

All practitioners have different credentialing from at least one to all of the following programs: 

 

  • "Accredited" Investigative Genetic Genealogist Designation
  • Ramapo College Investigative Genetic Genealogy Certificate & Bootcamp Programs
  • University of New Haven's Henry C. Lee Institute for Forensic  Science’s Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy Graduate Certificate Program
  • United Data Connect / Florida International University Global and Forensic Justice Center’s Fundamentals of Investigative Genetic Genealogy Certificate Program
  • Boston University’s Genealogical Research Program

Guiding Principles Resources

GenGenies' follows FIGG standards set forth by:

 

  • Investigative Genetic Genealogy Accreditation Board (IGGAB)
  • The US Department of Justice's Interim Policy on Forensic Genetic Genealogical DNA Analysis and Searching 
  • The Association of Professional Genealogists' Code of Ethics and Professional Practices
  • The International Society of Genetic Genealogy (ISSOG)
  • The National Technology Validation and Implementation Collaborative (NTVIC)'s Updated Guidelines for Establishing FIGG Programs
